Teens with Severe Mental Disorders More Likely to Engage in Risky Sex

While teenagers who suffer from mental health disorders are more likely to engage in risky sexual behaviors, a new study has found that teens who experience the manic phase of bipolar disorder tend to be more sexually active, have multiple sexual partners, and are more likely to contract a sexually transmitted disease. Manic phases of bipolar disorder include dramatic mood swings.
